The title is inspired by the ultra-cheap B movies that used to play from midnight to dawn, one of which we return to intermittently in amongst the other skits where the Amazon women clatter over rocks in high heels throwing spears at a wooden rocket in a wooded landscape that's standing in for the moon.

A host of directors bring a similar sense of the ridiculous to many of the gags in this extended skit film, while many more are simply played straight. Some are less successful than others, but there are plenty of laugh-out-loud scenes and it's fun enough to watch to pick out all the famous faces from the early 80s comedy world.
