The Blob

Year: 1988
Director: Chuck Russell
The original teen-horror genre era (from the same sort of double-bill, Saturday matinee, aliens invade time, as far as I know) was far before my time, but I'd seen a clip of the cardboard front of a building with melted plasticine being squeezed from behind through the windows, so didn't expect much.

From what I remember of this remake, it did a fairly good job, but it was 15 years too early. If it had come out now from the directorial hand of Robert Rodriguez or Eli Roth, it would spawn a whole year of big budget, CG remakes from the I Was a Teenage Werewolf aesthetic (but I suppose all those guys are too young to remember it too).
