A teenage cult film favourite and inspiration to minimum wage shopkeepers in cool record and video shops the world over, this seminal tale of love and retail chronicles a day in the life of the kooky kids who work at Empire Records.

Romantic and teen angst subplots wax and wane in a likeable and not too taxing fashion, all forgotten (or at least put aside) for the rooftop party that seems to epitomise the lifestyle the film wants to showcase.

Cute and likeable, with enough indie chic to stop it being another teen flick in the comedy section.
