Misadventures of Mr Wilt

Year: 1989
Production Co: London Weekend Television
Director: Michael Tuchner
Writer: Andrew Marshall/David Renwick
Cast: Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith

Based on a nominally successful series of novels, this film brings together the Alas Smith and Jones stars in a very British comedy all about desperate attempts to keep the stiff upper lip of dignity in a series of increasingly bizarre and embarrassing situations.

Wilt (Rhys Jones) wants to kill his inattentive wife. He ends up strapped to a blow up sex doll at a party, and when he's seen getting rid of it by burying it in a hole in the ground the police get suspicious that he's carried out his promise.

It needed to be a little more risqué to really hit the mark, so it's for Smith and Jones completists only.
