Morons From Outer Space

Year: 1986
Production Co: Thorn EMI
Director: Mike Hodges
Writer: Mel Smith/Griff Rhys Jones
Cast: Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith
None of my friends or contemporaries in Australia knew much of Smith and Jones in the mid 1980s, and so this eclectic comedy about aliens who come to Earth and become rock stars was a bit lost on me. I expected something a lot more in the vein of The Young Ones.

The storyline shifted between the few beings who end up on Earth and find stardom (led by Rhys Jones) and the one left behind, trying to work out what to do (Smith).

A second viewing might help, there's apparently a lot of humour a 16 year old just wouldn't get.
