Zippy, Elmore Leonard-like pacing of Soderbergh's latest pendulum swing, back to his love of high class criminals to prove he's a dab hand in yet another genre. Ocean (Clooney) amasses a crew of specialists to rob the vault servicing three casinos, owned by ice cold Garcia, who's stolen his wife while he was in jail.
A well worn plot is bought to life by Soderbergh's expert directing hand and colourful, unexpected characterisations. The story also unfolds just enough at a time to keep you riveted. The only inexplicable point in a film that was full of happenings artfully explained later on was why Tess (Roberts) suddenly loved Ocean again at the end. A spectacularly self-parodying performance by 70's hero Gould.
