A love triangle story with a (slight) difference. Three young people make friends at college when they're put in the same dorm. The brash, masculine one (Baldwin) has the hots for the pretty, slightly neurotic girl (Boyle), who has the hots for the quiet spoken nice guy (Charles), who realises he's gay and has the hots for the brash one.
It's essentially a younger, more sexually aware When Harry Met Sally as the three promise to be friends and not act on any of their sexual longings lest it do any damage to their delicate situation, but it's not long before human nature takes over.
There's no real happy ending, something that - with the liberal profanity and realistic characterisations - gives it a more natural edge, and the end result feels like the memories you grew up with yourself who made you what you are.
