Remakes, remakes, remakes... will we get sick of them, if we aren't already?

Hot off the press is that Robert Rodriguez is jumping on the bandwagon big time in helming the remakes (please... no more 'reimaginings') of both Barbarella and a live action Jetsons movie. Like a successful investor who blows his returns on booze and hookers, it seems El Mariachi is works by building up indie cred (Grindhouse, Desperado) only to blow his currency on on pap like Spy Kids.

Tentative good news to everyone who had a plastic Castle Grayskull in their bedroom is another stab at a Masters of the Universe movie, but set on Eternia with the actual characters – not a few of them coming to Earth to battle each other - and with Dolph Lundgren nowhere in sight.

Sean Connery's dipped out of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, John Hurt's dived in, and oh, did I mention remakes? Watch out for Meatballs and Mandrake the Magician too...
