Apparently Mike Myers' role in The Love Guru made him pine for another character many people consider The Love Guru a cheap imitation of, so Austin Powers 4 is going into development.
I was also intrigued and (I admit it) excited by the news there was going to be a new Muppet movie. When I read that it was going to come from the Apatow guys I had to check again in case I'd read it wrong. What can the new kings of sex comedies bring to such a revered children's institution? Can we expect puppet profanity and porn like Meet the Feebles?
I've also been watching the big budget Wolf Man update since I heard about it, and the cast looks good, with Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving joining Benicio Del Toro.
In a Hollywood that remakes everything else because it'd bereft of new ideas, Quarantine is a new low? It's not only a remake of Spanish horror hit [Rec] , it's coming out at almost the same time.
Lots of casting and sequel news, with McKellen all but signed up to The Hobbit films if you believe Guillermo Del Toro, and Jonah Hill (from the Apatow crowd) and Australian Teresa Palmer for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Also in development is the new Mission Impossible (God deliver us) and apparently Robert Downey Jr is having a few months off from tabloid duties talking up Iron Man before he goes back into the gym to buff up for the sequel, with the shoot reportedly in early 2009.
