I wondered if there might end up being a legal scrap between Sony and Nickelodeon, who both have films coming up called 2012 – Sony's being the Roland Emmerich blockbuster?
And in massive remake news – and I'm not normally so excited about them – comes the announcement of a Romancing the Stone remake. It's massive news because I know there have been a lot of horror remakes from the slasher period, but that was drawing to a close by the mid eighties.
So far, anything from about 1985 onward has been unofficially too recent to remake, but with the 1984 adventure film that put Robert Zemeckis on the map due for a second round, it makes me realise how long I've been a movie lover (a good thing) and how old I am (not as good).
