The Adventures of Milo & Otis

Year: 1989
Production Co: Fuji Television Network
Director: Masanori Hata
Writer: Mark Saltzman
Cast: Dudley Moore (voice)

What must have taken a colossal amount of patience and animal wrangling paid off in a visual delight. Outlandish animal behaviour such as a cat riding a wooden box down a raging river and swiping at a tree snake and a dog riding on the back of a sea turtle carries the story of Milo and Otis.

They're a farm cat and dog who are firm friends and who grow up together exploring the world around them, Otis mostly getting into trouble and Milo mostly getting him out of it. Moore's narration is warm and funny and some of the shots captured make it a technical feat of of filmmaking.
