Amores Perros

Year: 2000
Production Co: Altavista Films
Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu
Writer: Guillermo Arriaga
Cast: Gael Garcia Bernal

I've never turned a movie off after such a short amount of time. I barely made it past three minutes. It's not cool or edgy to show things Hollywood wouldn't like rape or women being bashed or, in this case, injured or fighting animals. Hollywood filmmakers aren't stupid. They don't show that stuff because they know it upsets people.

The dog on the back seat might have been sedated and covered with makeup, but the two dogs fighting was real – you can't get an animal that savage without seriously distressing it, and they shouldn't get awards and credibility for that, they should be jailed.
