The most fantasy-centric of the Evil Dead series sees Ash (Campbell) where the end of Evil Dead II left off, stranded in the middle ages.
He has to acquire an ancient trinket to return to his own time, but accidentally unleashes a Harryhausen-inspired army of the undead whom he has to once again fight to save the people.
Finally descending obtusely into high camp territory, Army is as much comedy as horror (in fact, most vestiges of the original's horror flavour are gone), and can as such be enjoyed by a broader audience even though it probably polarised most fans.
