Back to School

Year: 1986
Director: Allan Metter
Cast: Rodney Dangerfield, Sally Kellerman, Keith Gordon, Robert Downey Jr, Burt Young, Ned Beatty
I wasn't around for the beginning of Roger Dangerfield's career and I'm not familiar with his stand-up comedy, but as long as I've taken notice his movies have all been the same; screwball teen comedies where he plays a rich but working class playboy who knows how to throw his money around. In this case, he attends his son's college and enlists NASA to do his son's astronomy homework.

Most of the movie is about him acting like a drunken party boy, hot tubbing with babes and acting the fool before falling for lecturer Sally Kellerman.

His son Jason is played by the guy who played Arnie in Christine but never seemed to go onto anything else.

And what a bizarre place for Robert Downey Jr to pop up - maybe because of all the drugs that would have been around campus.
