The Blues Brothers

Year: 1980
Director: John Landis
Writer: John Landis/Dan Aykroyd
Cast: John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Carrie Fisher, John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Steve Lawrence
Another film vaunted as a cult classic with almost no merit. Just an idiotic film about two unfunny losers who go on the road to put together their old band in order to save an orphanage, with the script going in whatever direction it has to in order to feature tracks by the godfathers and mothers of soul.

The car chase through the shopping mall was the only part worth watching. Some jokes produce a smirk, most are just stupid. Both Landis and Aykroyd would go on to much better things, Belushi flaming out soon after.
