Bodies Rest & Motion

Another snapshot at Generation X slackers, this time a failed one. Indecipherable multiple subtexts accompany an essentially boring story about a couple who always move, the best friend and ex of one who hangs around and the wise man/child painter who sleeps with one.

There's no explanation for any of the motivations of any character, and the whole thing tries too hard to be an ultra-cool tract of (as the video cover says) 'they don't know what they want but they want it now.' A shame, because after an undistinguished career and fairy floss like Gremlins, Drop Dead Fred, this could have been Phoebe Cates' big break at maturity and she's a fresh and engaging actor.
