Buffy the Vampire Slayer

A cinematic Ninja Turtles - that is, an attempt to extract comedy, cool and appeal by blending two completely separate premises - in this case, the gothic vampire hunter tale and the LA valley girl teen angst movie. Respectively portrayed by blonde babe Swanson and craggy Kenobi-like vampire-hunter mentor Sutherland as a young girl finds she's the chosen one in her generation, destined to hunt and kill vampires (played tongue in cheek by 'Pee Wee Herman' Ruebens and Hauer).

It sort of works, generating a few laughs, but mostly remains an inane high school-level teenage comedy with a few offbeat add-ons. Best described as a comic mid 80's Breakfast Club on crack.
