Cute and sweet story about average guy (Kline, in the nice everyday guy mode of his chameleon-like acting repertoire) who just happens to look like the president of the US. Asked to stand in for him while he sleeps with his mistress, Dave finds himself filling the president's shoes for an extended stay after the real Commander in Chief lapses into a sex-induced coma.
He proceeds to win over the whole country and even fall in love with Sigourney Weaver's eerily Hillary Clinton-like First Lady. Pretty run of the mill story and script as he overcomes political hurdles like an evil power-hungry Senator in on the scam (Langella), but made charming by some accomplished talent.
