Dazed and Confused
For a classic movie, it was a shocking disappointment. You know what it was trying to be? The American Graffiti of the 70's, encompassing everything that meant anything about being a teenager in 1970's middle America - pot, a smattering of political awareness and getting laid.
The group of characters are as disparate as the storyline (s) - each keep getting dropped midstream to move on to new episodes - some of them without any apparent developments. Comic tendencies in the characterisations (as well as the motivations of the characters) were never fully explored and the whole thing ended up an uncomfortable mess.
It's a showcase of shocking acting and no tangible resolution - just a wander through the lives of a bunch of stoner kids.
