Driving Miss Daisy
Nice movie about a cotton-pickin' old black man (Freeman in his first big thing), and a grumpy old woman. Set in the deep south and spanning America's golden age, Freeman is hired to Chauffer Tandy by her son (Aykroyd, who miraculously and believably ages about thirty years throughout the movie) and, despite her cantakerous protestations and their constant bickering, becomes what she ends up calling her 'only friend' when she's finally put in a home.
Sweet and entertaining, but robbed Steel Magnolias of the 1989 Best Picture Academy Award.
