The Enforcer

Year: 1976
Director: James Fargo
Cast: Clint Eastwood, Tyne Daly
The Dirty Harry movie where he teams up with the woman from Cagney and Lacey.

As a movie character, Dirty Harry is one of the greats, but putting him into an asinine partner-he-doesn't-want plot makes it seems like they were running out of ideas for him, especially when the plucky constable wins him over in the end, proving he's nothing but a big softie. He must have felt lucky - this movie wasn't going to get anywhere on any sort of cinematic quality.

Best moments; Harry postulating an imaginary scenario where the straight laced, elderly female instructor approaches him on the street and offers to put on a show with a Shetland pony, and his frustration at the pussy-footing around recruit training, asking what the hapless Kate (Daly) will do when some thug approaches her with a gun and says 'hit the deck you son of a bitch'.
