Surprisingly entertaining story about a straight and narrow FBI agent Buckner (Sutherland) bringing in a one time hippie activist (Hopper) who invariably rubs off on him while avoiding a government heavy (De Young). Some very funny characterisations and scenes; two former hippies now living the American dream of prosperity kidnap the incognito Hopper and call themselves the '60's Republican Army' to try to rock the establishment one more time; Kane as the lonely matriarch of an empty commune we learn Buckner was brought up at. A satisfying conclusion and an engaging and funny script.
