Year: 1991
Production Co: Kennedy Miller
Director: John Duigan
Writer: John Duigan
Cast: Noah Taylor, Nicole Kidman, Thandie Newton
The erstwhile sequel to The Year My Voice Broke, and containing the same touching, whimsical, nostalgic look at life as a rural teenager in the postwar years. Danny (Taylor) goes to a boarding school across the lake from a girl's school, and more coming of age drama ensues with new crush Thandiwe (Newton) and blond vamp Nicola (Kidman).

Duigan gets the dreamy tone just right again thanks to Taylor's voiceover, and while it doesn't feel as fresh as its predecessor, it's still heartfelt and sweet.
