I'm not old enough to have seen the original Herbie films at the movies, but this film treats the institution like my memory (the obvious choice for the new audience; the children and in some cases grandchildren of the original viewers). Herbie is scarp metal, rescued by accident by the distractingly endowed Lindsay Lohan and bought back to the top of the racing game against the nasty big time driving champion.
Predictably predictable, and at first glance it look full of big names until you realise they're not big names, just recognisable faces like Michael Keaton and Matt Dillon who haven't had a hit in a long time.
