Ice Age; The Meltdown

Year: 2006
Director: Carlos Saldanha
Cast: Roy Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Jay Leno
A lot of critics dismissed this as more of the same, and of course it was. It had a very strong demographic, a popular group of characters and a setting that allowed for the sort of jokes audiences and studios love - of taking a completely alien environment and attributing modern American societal mores to it.

The small crew from the original are living happily in a valley overlooked by an enormous ice dam. But the ice age is coming to an end, and the dam in melting slowly, causing a mass exodus to safer ground. Along the way are another mammoth, voiced by Queen Latifah, which Manny (Romano) hardly dared hope there was another one of.

The most popular part as in the original is the bug eyes, sharp toothed squirrel and his endless quest to hang onto his precious acorn.
