The King and I

Year: 1956
Studio: 20th Century Fox
Director: Walter Lang
Writer: Ernest Lehman/Oscar Hammerstein
Cast: Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner

A Friday night TV movie staple for me from way back, this is the immortal story of a teacher (Kerr) who travels to Siam (modern day Thailand) to be the nanny to the self-absorbed King's (Brynner) children and who makes more of an impression on him than anyone imagined.

It will impress kids and musical romantics more than anyone. It's a sweet and cute tale and Brynner is over the top and on top of his form.
