Long Kiss Goodnight

Year: 1996
Director: Renny Harlin
Cast: Geena Davis, Samuel L Jackson, David Morse, Craig Bierko
Overslick and larger than life action movie with James Bond-class stunts and mayhem with a solid (if fairly ridiculous) story behind it (which is more than most action movies can claim).

A suburban mother who's forgotten her superhero-like life with an undercover government agency, only to have it all brought back by a terrorist plot to scare Congress into coughing up more spy funds and a bumbling detective she's hired to fill in the missing years of her life.

The comic relief by Jackson is almost constant while on screen, villain Bierko is just a bit too pretty to be convincing. Starts off small and quiet, ends up bigger and louder than an atomic blast.
