9 To 5

Year: 1980
Director: Colin Higgins
Cast: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, Dabney Coleman
What appeal Hollywood's first major look at the evils of corporate politics had for a teenage boy I don't know, but I loved this film and watched it on video over and over. Part social comment, part revenge fantasy, three women at a big firm become friends and fantasise about revenge against their sleazy misogynist boss (Coleman). The second half is the revenge fantasy as they take him hostage and try to work things out to keep themselves out of trouble. The fantasy sequences (Parton's rodeo and Tomlin's Snow White particularly) are stand outs.
