A car splits in half, lengthwise. The only other time I've seen that happen is when a car was smashed in half width-wise in A View to a Kill during the opening Paris car chase.

That's the only thing I remember about this Disney romp from the Herbie era, having seen it so long ago (during the theatrical run when I was all of five years old) that it feels like another life.

But it's apparently about two bumbling criminals who kidnap the children of a wealthy industrialist in order to extract a huge ransom, except that the kids have a marvellous time with the pair and they presumably all end up friends.

Why bother reviewing it? It's special as it's the first movie I still have memories of seeing.
