Piranha

Year: 1978
Production Co: New World Pictures
Director: Joe Dante
Producer: Jon Davison
Writer: Richard Robinson/John Sayles
Ultra schlocky horror film about a killer fish infesting a lake at an American summer camp (I think - the details are just too hazy) thanks to biological experiments (isn't that always the way?).

Cheap and nasty - in fact, it's possible the producers intended for it to be a borderline comedy. More famous for being the original in the series which gave James Cameron his directorial debut, otherwise just one of the vanguard of 1970s bloodfests copying classics of the genre on the smell of an oily rag.
