This is a film I really want to revisit one day, because I know it's an acerbic skewer through the heart of Hollywood and I know in Robert Altman's hands it would be cleverly done.

But I thought it just dropped the ball too much and wasn't about what I wanted it to be. Not that I wanted it to be caricature like Be Cool or to a lesser extent For Your Consideration, but a studio executive covering up a murder and moving in with his victim's lover just didn't grab me and didn't seem to have enough of the subtle wit and sharp barbs I hoped for.

Being an Altman film it was of course realistic and naturally played by all concerned, but I couldn't help but left feeling a little wanting.
