Predator 2

Year: 1990
Director: Stephen Hopkins
Cast: Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Maria Conchita Alonso, Bill Paxton, Robert Davi, Adam Baldwin
By virtue of how cool the original Predator film was, I was mostly disappointed with this sequel, I think because I was hoping for more Schwarzenegger and more jungles.

Danny Glover however does a pretty good job, overacting slightly as he always does, however this time it fits. It's contemporary LA of the near future, and Glover's a cop trying to fight his way through the quagmire of gang warfare.

Except that a new arrival turns up in the middle of a particularly nasty street war; a familiar dreadlocked figure.

It doesn't capture the quality McTiernan brings to all films; the same easy-to-hold-onto sense that made the original so special, but it's entertaining enough as a plain action movie.
