Raising Cain

Year: 1992
Director: Brian De Palma
Producer: Gale Anne Hurd
Writer: Brian De Palma
Cast: John Lithgow, Lolita Davidovich, Gabrielle Carteris
A confusing thriller about a renowned psychologist (Lithgow) who suffers a fractured personality after the emotional trauma of his wife's infidelity.

My memory of the film is of a Lynch-like tale where you never know which parts are the reality and which are the fantasy, or maybe that's just because the fractured nature of the story confused me.

Mostly I remember the brutal, kick in the stomach shock of the mortuary worker tearing back the sheet from the dead woman, her face drawn back in a frozen scream of terror and her eyes looking straight into the camera.
