The Replacement Killers

This undeservedly panned film bought Chow Yun Fat to mainstream western audiences and was pretty much hated by critics and the film press, but it's actually a very slick action film of the bullets and blood variety and expecting something more is expecting far too much. Yun Fat is a Chinese assassin hired to murder the little boy of a police officer who killed his boss' criminal son during a sting.
When he realises at the last second the folly of his ways and refuses, he becomes a target himself and hunts down his former employers bloodthirsty cabal. Aided by fake ID maker (Sorvino), he tracks down every hired goon and cold blooded killing machine to the top in a montage of ridiculously entertaining action sequences, shoot-outs and car chases. Nothing to dislike if you realise what you're paying for.
