The Sixth Day

Year: 2000
Production Co: Phoenix Pictures
Director: Roger Spottiswoode
Writer: Cormac Wibberley
Cast: Arnold Schwarzenneger, Michael Rapaport, Michael Rooker, Sarah Wynter, Robert Duvall

After another long absence from films, Schwarzenegger needn't have bothered (as with his previous appearance one year earlier in End of Days).

It's a shocking action film wrapped up in an anti-cloning warning as a wealthy magnate who's perfected the practice wants to pin a murder on an unsuspecting pilot. It's also a campy, corny, stupidly written and has a Hollywood moral ending that's enough to make you gag.

The action is nothing we haven't seen before, the plot might as well not be there, and to take subject matter like cloning and put it through a bad action movie mincer seems to cheapen the issue. Australian Sarah Wynter must have been kicking herself for her big break to be so bad.
