Tank Girl

Year: 1995
Director: Rachel Talalay
Cast: Lori Petty, Naomi Watts, Malcolm McDowell
Should have been a cool-gadgety, wise cracking, ultra hip rendition of the comic, but it falls flat far short of the mark. Petty does the best she can, Watts is insipid, McDowell looks, acts and sounds the same as in every movie in which he's played a villain in the last 15 years, and the mutant kangaroos angle sunk an already struggling story to the depths of ridiculousness.

Postage stamp-sized plot (of McDowell a greedy corporate intent on cornering the world's water while Tank girl and the Kangazoids fight him off) doesn't flesh out ridiculous premise or bargain basement effects & direction.
