In the vein of Appleseed comes this realistic, visually sweeping CGI film of blistering action.
When the Japanese government gradually retreats from the rest of the world and closes its border, it becomes an international enigma and nothing gets in or out.
Long after the banning of robot technology, the UN fears Japan has cut itself off to continue its program of robotics, and it's up to a female agent and her small crew (Sword) to infiltrate fortress Japan, find out the truth behind the evil mega-conglomerate and put a stop to it.
It's a grittier, more violent movie than the often beautiful Appleseed Ex Machina, with incredible visuals and breakneck pacing. See it if you're an action fan as readily as if you're an anime fan.
