Y Tu Mama Tambien

Year: 2001
Director: Alfonso Cuaron
Writer: Alfonso Cuaron
Cast: Diego Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal
Like a lite version of City of God, Y Tu Mama Tambien encompasses enough themes and points it would warrant several viewings. On the surface, it's a road trip about two horny Mexican boys who've convinced the beautiful socialite wife and friend of their family to go along to an imaginary beach.

The trio drive, talk, smoke and eventually all sleep together, and the story touches on everything from relationships to sexuality and the emotions that come with them.

It's all set against a backdrop of modern Mexico, a land of contrasts, beauty and brutality, portrayed by the police checkpoints and news bulletins we're treated to throughout the film.
