Crime Story

Year: 1993
Production Co: Golden Harvest
Director: Kirk Wong
Cast: Jackie Chan
An anomaly from Jackie Chain as he brings his comedy chop-socky style to a down-and-dirty Hong Kong crime thriller - that means a lot of violent death and bloodshed, not something you usually see in a Chan film.

He breaks out into the kind of comedy aerobic kung fu we love him for a few times, but mostly he's an everyday cop trying to solve a kidnapping embroiled in police corruption and labour dispute subplots.

You're waiting for the whole film for Chan to open his trademark can of whup-ass, but it's a not ineffective thriller.
