There wasn't much to distinguish this film from New Moon, which is no doubt exactly how the studio and the twillions of fans wanted it. Same far north country setting, same clothes, same dialogue, same serious approach that lifts it just above the quagmire of clag it could have been.

Bella (Stewart) is still torn between her vampire lover Edward (Pattinson) and man-hunk-wolf Jacob (Lautner). Although she's leaving more towards the former, asking him to deflower her but frustrated at his insistence that they wait to marry, much like Mormons...

But there's trouble brewing on the horizon as head baddie Victoria (Howard) has created a vampire army in Seattle that plans to march on Forks and destroy the Cullen family. Before long it's apparent the only course of action is for the vampires and werewolves to get closer than they'd ordinarily like and fight alongside each other when the newly undead, much more powerful horde closes in.

All the familiar elements you'll love or hate depending on how much of a fan you are, including slightly better effects and a more exciting climax than the series has shown us so far.
