Another Wolfcop

Year: 2017
Production Co: The Coup Company
Director: Lowell Dean
Writer: Lowell Dean
Cast: Leo Farfad, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Kevin Smith

The plot is a cast off from a hundred other conspiracy thrillers. The local big business enterpreneur is building a new hockey stadium in Woodhaven as a gift for the citiens of the town on the eve of his new beer launch, a product called Chicken Milk (giving the film one of its most quotable lines, 'slam a cold cock').

But it's all a ruse. He's working with an alien race that wants to take over the town by impregnating the citizenry with alien babies that emerge from their bodies like talking dicks, creatures they'll ingest when they drink the new beer.

But Lou (Leo Farfad) is still kicking arse and taking names among Woodhaven's criminal gangs in his lycanthropic form. He's a constant thorn in the side of new sheriff Tina (Amy Matysio), his partner from the first film, but he gets the job done.

He's also rejoiend by best friend Willie (Jonathan Cherry), who's already ingested one of the alien babies that engages him in frequent and abrasive discourse thanks to his capture by the aliens.

The trailer is a Sharknado -esque romp that promises more explosions, more blood, more violence and more donuts, and writer/director Lowell Dean, even though he might have had a bigger budget, hasn't let the USP of the whole Wolfcop ethos break its banks.

He's still well aware of how ridiculous it is and he hasn't forgotten it's primarily a comedy, and it does exactly what a sequel to a movie like Wolfcop should – give you the more of the same with the dial turned up considerably.

He also manages the delicate balance between getting you to care enough about the story and characters to stay with it for 90 minutes and realising that, like with Flying High, you're there expecting to laugh, and thanks to some choice lines and ideas, Another Wolfcop delivers just that.
